I finally got rid of the grass. It took 5 years and a few droughts, but now it is gone, killed, finished and done.

I felt like a total water wasting jerk asshole watering it last year during a drought and one of the hottest summers I’ve experienced in Colorado. We are again in a drought 2 situation this year so I decided it was time to let go and rip it up.

I’m about to start work on laying in flower boxes, bricks, and ground cover to make the barren space pretty, colorful, and mostly waterless. Yee Haw!

First Iris of 2013

I can’t even remember what this was that I planted last year but I assumed it was a dud since nothing came of it last year. Not so this year! Bit that still doesn’t help jog this flailing memory for what it was as I’m not great at identifying plants and trees. Yet.

It took a little longer this year because of the big Spring snowstorms, but the deep freeze was no match for my 5 year old little tree.

Never enough.
